Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee the financial aspects of significant construction projects based in or around Glasgow . This role involves managing all project costs from inception through to completion, including estimating, budgeting, contract administration, and final account reconciliation. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure commercial success and adherence to contractual obligations. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and control project costs throughout the entire project lifecycle, ensuring profitability.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates , bills of quantities, and tender documents.
• Administer construction contracts, including variations, claims, and disputes.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and assess work completed for interim valuations.
• Negotiate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve favorable commercial outcomes.
• Prepare and present regular cost reports and financial forecasts to senior management.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor , with a strong track record in managing project finances.
• In-depth knowledge of UK construction contracts and standard forms of measurement (e.g., SMM7, NRM).
• Proficiency in relevant cost management software and Excel.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant professional qualification (e.g., RICS, CIOB).
• Ability to manage multiple financial streams and provide clear reporting in a hybrid working model.
