Senior Quantity Surveyor – East London Location: Beckton, East London – Hybrid Working Job Type: Permanent Sector: Water / Utilities / Civil Engineering / MEICA We are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team of a major contractor delivering complex engineering and infrastructure projects within the UK water sector. Based in Beckton, East London, with hybrid working available, the role will involve taking commercial responsibility for projects and significant work packages from procurement through to delivery and final account. We are particularly interested in speaking with Senior Quantity Surveyors with experience across water, utilities, civil engineering or MEICA, together with strong NEC contract experience. Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, responsibilities will include:

• Commercial management of projects and work packages
• Liaising with design, construction and supply chain teams to capture, analyse and control project costs
• Working collaboratively with the client and wider project team
• Managing the main contract and ensuring contractual notices and correspondence are appropriately identified and raised
• Preparing and issuing subcontract documentation
• Supporting procurement and subcontractor management
• Managing applications for payment
• Preparing cost and value reports, budgets and forecasts
• Monitoring project commercial performance
• Supporting and developing junior members of the commercial team
• Maintaining strong commercial relationships across the project Ideally as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll have:
• A degree or equivalent commercial qualification
• Experience within water, utilities, civil engineering or MEICA
• Strong knowledge and practical experience of NEC3 contracts
• Experience commercially managing projects or substantial work packages
• Good subcontract and supply chain management experience
• Chartered status or be working towards membership of a recognised professional institution Experience of the IChemE form of contract would be particularly beneficial. Previous experience managing or developing junior commercial staff would also be advantageous. What's on Offer The package includes:
