Senior Quantity Surveyor - Building

Location: London Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Building team, working on a range of projects across London.

The role will focus on fast-track healthcare, education, refurbishment and occupied-building projects, typically valued between £500k and £5m.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven QS to take ownership of projects from procurement through to final account, working closely with clients, Project Managers, consultants and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

Full commercial management of projects valued £500k-£5m Procurement and management of subcontractors Cost control, forecasting, valuations and reporting Applications for payment, variations and commercial claims CVRs and financial reporting Final accounts and commercial negotiations Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives Work closely with operational teams and clients Mentor Assistant and Junior Quantity Surveyors

About You

Proven Senior Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor experience Main contractor background preferred Experience on £500k-£5m building projects Experience of fast-track projects Healthcare, education, refurbishment or fit-out experience advantageous Experience working in live/occupied buildings highly desirable Strong commercial, contractual and negotiation skills Good knowledge of procurement, cost control and final accounts RICS qualified or working towards qualification desirable, but not essential
