About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their fully remote team. You will be responsible for managing all costs relating to construction projects, from initial tender estimates to the final account, ensuring financial viability and maximizing value for the company. This role requires a strong understanding of construction contracts, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage commercial aspects of projects remotely. You will play a key role in financial control and contract administration, ensuring profitable outcomes and maintaining strong client relationships through effective remote communication and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, tender, and negotiate bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and other tender documentation.
- Manage all aspects of the contract cost, including variations, claims, and payments.
- Conduct feasibility studies and financial appraisals for potential projects.
- Monitor project expenditure against budget and provide regular financial reports.
- Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks.
- Negotiate and agree on final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
- Significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a proven track record in managing project costs.
- In-depth knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
- Proficiency in cost management software and standard office applications.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage workload effectively in a remote environment.
