Quantity Surveyor – Structural Steelwork
Location: UK Industry: Structural Steel / Construction Type: Permanent
A leading UK steelwork contractor is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of major structural steel projects. This is a great opportunity to join a well‑established and growing business.

Key Responsibilities
*
Take full commercial ownership of projects after contract award
*
Produce commercial budgets and strategies
*
Support procurement of materials and subcontract packages
*
Prepare, submit and agree monthly applications for payment
*
Lead change control and price all variations
*
Negotiate variation values with clients
*
Manage and maximise project cashflow
*
Monitor and control internal and external project costs
*
Provide commercial and contractual support to project teams
*
Ensure all contractual notices and procedures are issued correctly
*
Prepare final accounts and monthly commercial reports
*
Mentor junior commercial staff
Requirements
*
Minimum 3 years’ QS experience
*
Structural steelwork (or specialist subcontractor) experience is essential
*
Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
*
Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills
*
Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (preferred)
