Senior Quantity Surveyor (M&E)
Reading | Competitive Salary + Car Allowance + Benefits
A leading engineering and building services contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a major refurbishment and construction programme across the Thames Valley.
This is an opportunity to join a well-established business with a strong pipeline of secured work, taking ownership of significant M&E packages on technically challenging projects within a live operational environment.
You'll work closely with project and commercial leadership teams, playing a key role in protecting commercial performance, managing project risk and driving successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the commercial management of Mechanical & Electrical packages from procurement through to final account
* Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation and account settlement
* Prepare and submit CVRs, forecasts and cost reports
* Monitor project costs and manage cost-to-complete reporting
* Administer variations, change control and contractual notices
* Prepare valuations and support cash flow management
* Manage subcontractor liabilities and commercial risk
* Ensure compliance with JCT Design & Build contracts
* Build strong working relationships with clients, suppliers and project teams
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within the M&E / Building Services sector
* Strong subcontract procurement and commercial management experience
* Excellent understanding of JCT Design & Build contracts
* Experience managing valuations, variations, CVRs and final accounts
* Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
* Ability to operate effectively within fast-paced project environments
Desirable
* Experience working on large-scale MEP projects
* Background working within healthcare, pharmaceutical, aviation, manufacturing or other complex live environments
* RICS Chartership, or working towards
* Relevant HNC, HND or Degree qualification
* CSCS Card
