About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly analytical and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their thriving construction division, operating on a hybrid model in Bristol . This role involves comprehensive cost management throughout the project lifecycle, from initial estimates to final account settlements. You will be instrumental in ensuring projects are financially viable, managing contracts, negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors, and maintaining accurate cost records. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of construction costs, procurement strategies, and risk management, combined with excellent communication and negotiation skills. This hybrid role allows for effective site engagement and remote administrative work, ensuring optimal project financial control and profitability for challenging projects in the South West.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all project costs from inception to completion, ensuring financial objectives are met.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Administer contracts, including variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Monitor project expenditure and provide regular cost reports to senior management.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with construction projects.
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement routes , and construction economics.
- Proficiency in cost management software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
