Senior Radio Access Network (RAN) Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Radio Access Network (RAN) Engineer for a fully remote position, to play a crucial role in the design, optimization, and performance of their advanced mobile networks. This role is vital for ensuring the seamless operation and continuous improvement of our client's wireless infrastructure, including 4G and 5G technologies. You will work with a talented team of engineers, leveraging your expertise to solve complex challenges and drive innovation in wireless communications from anywhere in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and optimize 4G/LTE and 5G RAN solutions, ensuring coverage, capacity, and quality targets are met.
• Perform detailed radio network planning, performance analysis, and troubleshooting using specialized tools.
• Configure and manage RAN equipment, including base stations, antennas, and associated software.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network integration, new feature introductions, and capacity upgrades.
• Stay abreast of emerging RAN technologies, vendor solutions, and industry best practices.
• Develop technical documentation, best practice guides, and training materials for RAN operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in mobile RAN engineering, with a strong focus on 4G and 5G technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of RAN principles, including RF propagation, interference management, and handover optimization.
• Proficiency with RAN planning and optimization tools (e.g., Atoll, TEMS).
• Experience with various vendor RAN platforms and features.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
