About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Regulatory Lawyer to join their prominent legal team in Reading . This role is essential for advising the company on a broad spectrum of regulatory compliance matters, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and industry standards. You will work closely with various departments, providing strategic legal guidance and proactive solutions to navigate complex regulatory landscapes. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice on regulatory compliance across relevant sectors, including health and safety, environmental law, and financial services regulations (as applicable).
- Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory guidance, assessing their impact on the business.
- Develop and implement compliance policies, procedures, and training programmes for staff.
- Conduct internal audits and investigations to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Represent the company in dealings with regulatory bodies and authorities.
- Advise on risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to regulatory non-compliance.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of 6 years' experience specialising in regulatory law .
- Strong understanding of UK regulatory frameworks relevant to the company's industry.
- Proven experience in advising businesses on compliance strategies and risk management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory texts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working within a corporate legal department or a specialised regulatory practice in Berkshire .
