About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Remote DevOps Engineer to join their distributed engineering team, operating primarily out of Edinburgh . You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure, automating deployment pipelines, and ensuring the smooth operation of their applications. This is a critical role for a candidate who thrives in a remote setting, possesses strong expertise in cloud technologies, and is passionate about fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement through robust DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment, testing, and monitoring.
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement preventative measures to ensure high availability.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline processes and foster a DevOps culture.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Systems Engineering roles, with a focus on cloud environments.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and experience with infrastructure as code tools.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote environment.
