Senior Renewable Energy Trader

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Renewable Energy Trader to join their remote trading team. This critical role will focus on the physical and financial trading of renewable energy assets, including power purchase agreements (PPAs) and green certificates, across the UK and European markets. You will be responsible for developing and executing trading strategies to optimize asset profitability and manage market risk. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement innovative trading strategies for renewable energy generation and related financial products.
• Manage the day-to-day physical and financial trading operations for a portfolio of renewable assets.
• Analyze market trends, price drivers, and regulatory changes to identify profitable opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with market participants, counterparties, and stakeholders.
• Monitor and report on trading performance, P&L, and risk exposure to senior management.
• Collaborate with asset management, origination, and risk teams to align trading activities with business objectives.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in energy trading, with a strong focus on renewable energy markets.
• Proven track record of success in physical and financial trading, PPA negotiation, and risk management.
• In-depth knowledge of UK and European power markets, emissions trading, and certificate schemes.
• Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, adept at remote collaboration.
