Senior Research Fellow - Immunology

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Research Fellow to join their renowned Immunology research group in Belfast . This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to pioneering research aimed at understanding and modulating immune responses for therapeutic benefit. You will conduct independent research, mentor junior scientists, and collaborate across disciplines to drive significant scientific advancements. The role requires a deep understanding of immunological principles and experimental techniques, coupled with a passion for translating basic research into potential clinical applications, working within a leading academic and research environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute complex immunological experiments, including flow cytometry, ELISpot, cell-based assays, and functional immune response assessments.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data, drawing conclusions and proposing follow-up experiments.
• Develop and optimize new experimental protocols and methodologies.
• Mentor and supervise junior researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and students.
• Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences.
• Contribute to grant writing and the pursuit of external funding opportunities.

Requirements

• PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related life sciences discipline.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of post-doctoral research experience in a relevant field.
• Proven expertise in a broad range of immunological techniques and methodologies.
• Strong track record of publications in reputable scientific journals.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team in Belfast .
