Senior Research Scientist - Biotechnology

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Research Scientist to join their cutting-edge biotechnology research and development team based in Aberdeen . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, execution, and optimisation of experiments in molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemical assays.
• Develop and validate new research methodologies and protocols to advance drug discovery programmes.
• Analyse and interpret complex experimental data, drawing conclusions and formulating actionable next steps.
• Prepare high-quality scientific reports, manuscripts for publication, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
• Mentor and guide junior research staff, fostering a collaborative and productive laboratory environment.
• Stay abreast of the latest scientific literature and technological advancements in relevant fields.

Requirements

• PhD in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Pharmacology).
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry research experience in drug discovery or related fields.
• Demonstrated expertise in a range of laboratory techniques, including mammalian cell culture, PCR, ELISA, and Western blotting.
• Proven experience with data analysis software (e.g., GraphPad Prism, R) and maintaining detailed experimental records.
• Strong understanding of biotechnology principles and their application in therapeutic development.
