Senior Research Scientist - Biotechnology

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Research Scientist to join their cutting-edge Biotechnology research team in Aberdeen . You will be instrumental in the discovery and development of novel therapeutic targets and experimental approaches, contributing significantly to the company's scientific pipeline and overall mission. Key Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyze complex experiments in molecular biology and cell culture, adhering to strict scientific methodologies.
• Develop and validate new assays and protocols to support drug discovery and development programs.
• Interpret experimental data, draw sound scientific conclusions, and prepare detailed reports and presentations for internal review and external publication.
• Mentor junior research staff, providing guidance on experimental design, troubleshooting, and data interpretation.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including chemistry, pharmacology, and regulatory affairs, to advance research projects from concept to completion.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive laboratory notebooks and contribute to the intellectual property portfolio.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life science field.
• A minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry research experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical research.
• Proven expertise in various molecular and cellular biology techniques, including PCR, Western blotting, ELISA, flow cytometry, and mammalian cell culture.
• Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, and troubleshoot complex experimental workflows.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong publication record or equivalent scientific contributions.
• Experience with data analysis software and statistical methods.
