About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Research Scientist to join their innovative Biotechnology research and development team in Leicester . You will contribute significantly to the scientific direction of the department, leveraging your expertise to design and execute complex experiments. Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and execute complex experimental protocols in molecular biology , cell biology, and assay development.
• Analyze experimental data rigorously, interpret results, and present findings clearly to scientific and management teams.
• Lead specific research projects from conception through to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and project goals.
• Mentor junior scientists and research associates, fostering their technical and scientific development.
• Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific conferences.
• Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory notebooks and contribute to intellectual property documentation.

Requirements

• PhD in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry research experience in drug discovery or a related area.
• Demonstrated expertise in techniques such as CRISPR, next-generation sequencing, and advanced cell culture models.
• Proven ability to design and validate robust assays for target identification and validation.
• Strong understanding of the drug discovery process and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of scientific publications.
