About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Research Scientist to join their dynamic drug discovery team based in the heart of London . Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute complex research projects focused on drug discovery and development in therapeutic areas such as oncology and immunology.
- Design and perform in vitro and ex vivo experiments, including assays for target validation, compound screening, and mechanism of action studies.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, troubleshoot technical issues, and develop innovative solutions to research challenges.
- Collaborate closely with medicinal chemists, biologists, and pharmacologists to advance drug candidates through the discovery pipeline.
- Author and present research findings at internal meetings and external scientific conferences, contributing to publications and patent applications.
- Mentor junior scientists and contribute to the scientific direction and strategy of the research department.
Requirements
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a related discipline from a reputable institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in pharmaceutical research and drug discovery .
- Proven track record of successfully designing and implementing complex biological assays and research projects.
- Extensive experience with various experimental techniques, including cell-based assays, molecular biology techniques (PCR, Western blotting), and flow cytometry.
- Strong understanding of disease biology and experience in target identification and validation is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to present complex scientific information clearly.
