Senior Research Scientist - Genomics

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design, optimize, and perform complex genomic experiments , including next-generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation and analysis.
• Analyze and interpret large-scale genomic datasets using bioinformatics tools and statistical methods.
• Develop and validate new research methodologies and protocols to address specific scientific questions.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams of biologists, bioinformaticians, and clinicians to drive research projects forward.
• Prepare scientific reports, manuscripts for publication, and present findings at national and international conferences.
• Mentor junior research staff and contribute to the overall scientific strategy of the department.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
• Proven experience (5+ years post-doc) in genomics research and hands-on experience with NGS technologies .
• Proficiency in relevant bioinformatics software, programming languages (e.g., Python, R), and statistical analysis.
• Strong understanding of molecular biology techniques and experimental design principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage research projects and work effectively in a team environment.
