About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Scientist with expertise in Genomics to join their remote-first research team. This pivotal role involves driving innovation in understanding genetic variations and their impact on disease. You will design and execute complex genomic studies, develop novel analytical methodologies, and contribute to the interpretation of large-scale genomic datasets. The position requires a deep understanding of molecular biology, genetics, and advanced computational techniques to analyze and interpret sequencing data. Working in a fully remote environment, you will collaborate closely with a diverse team of scientists across different disciplines, contributing to significant breakthroughs in our client's research objectives and fostering a culture of scientific rigor and discovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage genomic research projects , from experimental planning to data analysis and interpretation.
- Develop and optimize computational pipelines for processing and analyzing next-generation sequencing (NGS) data.
- Apply statistical and machine learning methods to identify genetic associations and biomarkers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate genomic data with other biological datasets.
- Author scientific publications and present findings at international conferences.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Genetics, Genomics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Extensive experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies and data analysis.
- Proficiency in statistical genetics, population genetics, and bioinformatics tools.
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R) and experience with relevant analytical software.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
