Senior Research Scientist - Immunology

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Scientist with a specialization in Immunology to join their expanding R&D department in Plymouth . This role is central to advancing our understanding of immune responses and developing novel immunotherapies. You will design and lead complex research projects, conduct sophisticated immunological assays, and contribute to the interpretation and reporting of experimental findings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in immunology research, a strong publication record, and a commitment to collaborative scientific exploration in a cutting-edge research environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute in vitro and in vivo experiments to investigate immune cell function and signaling pathways.
• Develop and validate advanced immunological assays, including flow cytometry, ELISpot, and cytokine profiling.
• Analyze complex immunological data, interpret results, and draw scientifically sound conclusions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to advance research programs towards therapeutic development.
• Prepare high-quality research reports, manuscripts for publication, and present findings at scientific meetings.
• Mentor junior research staff and contribute to strategic research planning.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related life science field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant post-doctoral or industry research experience in immunology.
• Extensive hands-on experience with techniques such as multi-color flow cytometry, cell sorting, and immune cell culture.
• Proven expertise in studying T cell, B cell, or innate immune cell function.
• Strong understanding of immune system regulation and its role in disease.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong publication record.
