Senior Research Scientist - Immunology

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Research Scientist to lead critical immunology research projects in Reading . This role is central to advancing our understanding of immune system function and developing novel therapeutic strategies for a range of diseases. You will spearhead experimental design, conduct complex immunological assays, and interpret data to drive project progression. Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute scientific expertise and leadership, making significant impacts from our state-of-the-art facilities in Reading, Berkshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and interpret complex experiments in immunology, including cell-based assays, flow cytometry, and cytokine analysis.
• Investigate mechanisms of immune activation, regulation, and disease, contributing to the development of new therapeutics.
• Optimize and troubleshoot existing immunological assays and develop new methodologies as needed.
• Mentor and guide junior research staff, fostering a collaborative and productive laboratory environment.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across different scientific disciplines to achieve project goals.
• Prepare and present research findings internally and externally at scientific meetings and in publications.

Requirements

• PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in immunology research.
• Extensive hands-on experience with a range of immunological techniques, including multicolor flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISpot, and cell culture.
• Proven track record of successful experimental design, data analysis, and scientific problem-solving.
• Strong understanding of immune cell function, signaling pathways, and disease pathogenesis.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to lead scientific discussions in Reading .
