About the Role

This role is pivotal in the design, synthesis, and optimization of novel small molecules as potential therapeutic agents. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, applying your expertise to tackle challenging biological targets and drive project progression from hit identification to lead optimization. Key Responsibilities

• Design and synthesize novel small molecules with desired pharmacological and pharmacokinetic properties.
• Optimize lead compounds through iterative cycles of design, synthesis, and biological testing.
• Collaborate closely with biologists, pharmacologists, and DMPK scientists to advance drug discovery projects.
• Utilize structure-based drug design principles and modern synthetic chemistry techniques.
• Troubleshoot synthetic challenges and develop robust, scalable synthetic routes.
• Maintain detailed experimental records and present research findings to project teams and management.

Requirements

• PhD in Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry.
• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in medicinal chemistry within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Proven track record of successfully contributing to small molecule drug discovery programs.
• Extensive experience with modern synthetic organic chemistry techniques and purification methods.
• Proficiency in interpreting spectroscopic data (NMR, MS) and chromatographic results.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
