Senior Research Scientist - Microbiology

Key Responsibilities

• Lead independent research projects focused on identifying and characterizing novel antimicrobial compounds.
• Develop and optimize microbiological assays, including MIC testing, time-kill kinetics, and resistance profiling.
• Investigate microbial pathogenesis and mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance using molecular and biochemical techniques.
• Analyze and interpret complex experimental data, providing insights and recommendations for project direction.
• Author scientific manuscripts and present research findings at internal and external forums.
• Mentor junior scientists and contribute to laboratory safety and operations.

Requirements

• PhD in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry research experience in microbiology or infectious diseases.
• Proven experience with a range of bacterial and fungal pathogens and aseptic techniques.
• Expertise in molecular techniques (e.g., PCR, gene cloning, sequencing) and phenotypic assays.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
