Senior Research Scientist - Molecular Biology

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Research Scientist to join their cutting-edge Molecular Biology division in London . This pivotal role involves spearheading innovative research projects aimed at discovering and developing novel therapeutic targets. You will work collaboratively within a dynamic team of scientists and technicians, contributing to critical early-stage drug discovery pipelines. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of molecular mechanisms and a proven track record of scientific achievement, driving projects from conception through to preclinical evaluation in a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and interpret complex molecular biology experiments , including gene editing, cell-based assays, and protein analysis.
• Develop and validate new assays and methodologies to support research objectives and drug discovery efforts.
• Analyze and present experimental data to internal teams and external collaborators, contributing to scientific publications and patent applications.
• Lead and mentor junior research staff, fostering a culture of scientific rigor and collaboration.
• Manage research projects, ensuring timely completion of milestones and effective resource allocation.

Requirements

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related life science field.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry research experience in a relevant area.
• Demonstrated expertise in techniques such as CRISPR, NGS, qPCR, Western blotting, and flow cytometry.
• Proven ability to design and execute independent research projects with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and sterile techniques is essential.
