Senior Research Scientist - Neuroscience

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Research Scientist with a specialization in Neuroscience to join their innovative drug discovery team in Reading . You will be instrumental in designing and executing complex research experiments, mentoring junior scientists, and contributing to the strategic advancement of the neuroscience pipeline. Key Responsibilities

• Lead research initiatives focused on identifying and validating novel drug targets for neurological and psychiatric diseases.
• Design and conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments to investigate neuronal function, synaptic plasticity, and disease pathology.
• Develop and implement advanced assays, including electrophysiology, behavioral models, and molecular techniques.
• Analyze and interpret complex experimental data, presenting findings clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including medicinal chemists, biologists, and pharmacologists.
• Mentor and guide junior research scientists, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and innovation.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of post-doctoral research experience, with a significant focus on drug discovery in neuroscience .
• Proven track record of leading research projects and delivering key scientific milestones.
• Extensive experience with a variety of neurobiological techniques and methodologies.
• Strong understanding of neurodegenerative diseases, psychiatric disorders, or neuroinflammation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a history of scientific publications.
