Senior Research Scientist - Oncology

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Scientist to join their dynamic Oncology research team based in Bristol . This role is central to discovering and developing novel cancer therapies, involving the design and execution of complex experiments to understand tumor biology and identify new treatment strategies. You will contribute to cutting-edge research, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and play a key role in advancing promising drug candidates towards clinical application. Key Responsibilities

• Lead research projects focused on understanding the mechanisms of cancer development and progression.
• Design and execute in vitro and in vivo experiments to identify and validate novel oncology targets.
• Develop and optimize assays for screening and characterizing anti-cancer agents.
• Analyze and interpret complex biological data, contributing to strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate effectively with medicinal chemists, biologists, and clinicians.
• Prepare scientific reports, publications, and presentations for internal and external audiences.

Requirements

• PhD in Oncology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant research experience, with a strong focus on cancer biology.
• Proven expertise in cancer cell signaling pathways, tumor microenvironment, or immunology.
• Experience with molecular biology techniques, cell-based assays, and possibly preclinical models.
• Strong track record of scientific contributions, including publications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills for a collaborative, hybrid environment in Bristol .
