Senior Research Scientist - Oncology

About the Role

Our client is looking for a driven and innovative Senior Research Scientist with expertise in Oncology to join their dedicated research group in Wolverhampton . This role focuses on exploring novel therapeutic strategies and targets for various cancer types. You will lead research projects from conception through to data generation, utilizing a range of cutting-edge techniques and contributing to the advancement of our client's oncology pipeline. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated scientist to make a significant impact in cancer research, collaborating within a multidisciplinary team in the West Midlands .

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute experimental studies to investigate cancer biology and evaluate potential anti-cancer agents.
• Develop and validate cell-based assays, including efficacy and mechanism of action studies.
• Analyze complex biological data, interpret results, and present findings to scientific teams and management.
• Lead the planning and execution of research projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality data.
• Contribute to the generation of intellectual property and scientific publications.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues in chemistry, pharmacology, and translational science.

Requirements

• PhD in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in oncology research.
• Demonstrated expertise in cancer cell line and/or primary tumor cell culture.
• Experience with molecular biology techniques such as qPCR, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.
• Proven ability to design and conduct experiments independently and interpret results.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
