Senior Reservoir Engineer - Oil & Gas Exploration

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their prominent Oil & Gas Exploration division in Edinburgh . This role is central to optimizing hydrocarbon recovery from reservoirs, involving detailed analysis, simulation, and strategic planning. You will work with state-of-the-art technologies and complex geological data to maximize the value of exploration assets. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage reservoir simulation models to predict reservoir performance and optimize production strategies.
• Conduct reservoir characterization studies, integrating geological, geophysical, and engineering data.
• Perform material balance calculations, decline curve analysis, and volumetric estimations.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and improved oil recovery (IOR) techniques.
• Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and production engineers to develop integrated field development plans.
• Prepare technical reports, economic evaluations, and reserve estimations for management and investors.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering, with a strong background in oil and gas exploration and production.
• Proficiency with industry-standard reservoir simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, INTERSECT, Tempest).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex reservoir data.
• Experience with reserve reporting standards (e.g., SEC, SPE).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with experience presenting technical findings.
