About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer specializing in Unconventional Resources to join their dynamic hybrid team in Sheffield . This role is integral to optimizing the recovery of hydrocarbons from complex geological formations, including shale oil and gas reservoirs. You will apply advanced reservoir engineering principles, simulation techniques, and data analysis to develop production strategies, manage reservoir performance, and maximize economic value. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mindset, deep technical expertise in unconventional plays, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a mixed remote and on-site environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute reservoir management plans for unconventional assets, including production forecasting and performance analysis.
- Perform sophisticated reservoir simulations using industry-standard software to model fluid flow and predict well performance.
- Analyze well test data, production data, and geological information to characterize reservoirs and identify potential optimization opportunities.
- Design and implement strategies for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) or enhanced gas recovery (EGR) in unconventional reservoirs.
- Evaluate and recommend drilling and completion strategies, including hydraulic fracturing design and optimization.
- Collaborate with geoscientists, drilling engineers, and production engineers to integrate technical insights and achieve project objectives.
- Mentor junior reservoir engineers and contribute to the technical development of the team.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering, with a significant focus on unconventional resource development (e.g., shale gas, tight oil).
- Proficiency with reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, CMG, Petrel RE).
- Strong understanding of petrophysics, geology, and production engineering principles related to unconventional reservoirs.
- Experience with data analysis, uncertainty assessment, and economic evaluation of reservoir projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
