Senior Reservoir Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Aberdeen . This critical role involves optimizing hydrocarbon recovery from oil and gas reservoirs, contributing directly to the company's production and profitability goals. You will work with a dedicated team of geoscientists and production engineers, applying advanced analytical techniques and cutting-edge software to solve complex reservoir challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive reservoir management plans to maximize hydrocarbon recovery.
• Conduct detailed reservoir characterization studies using geological, geophysical, and engineering data.
• Perform decline curve analysis, material balance calculations, and rate-transient analysis to forecast production.
• Utilize reservoir simulation software to model reservoir performance under various development scenarios.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and external stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the reservoir engineering group.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in reservoir engineering within the upstream oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency with industry-standard reservoir simulation and analysis software (e.g., Petrel, Eclipse, Nexus).
• Strong understanding of reservoir fluid properties, rock mechanics, and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
