Senior Reservoir Simulation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical Senior Reservoir Simulation Engineer to join their fully remote technical team. This role is critical for developing and applying advanced simulation models to optimize hydrocarbon recovery and forecast production from various fields within the oil and gas industry . You will work independently and collaborate virtually with geoscientists and production engineers, providing expert insights to support strategic field development and management decisions. Key Responsibilities

• Build, calibrate, and run complex reservoir simulation models using industry-standard software.
• Analyze simulation results to understand fluid flow, predict future reservoir performance, and identify optimal production strategies.
• Perform sensitivity studies and uncertainty analysis to assess the impact of geological and operational variables.
• Recommend and evaluate enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods based on simulation results.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations to communicate simulation findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in reservoir simulation and modeling within the oil and gas sector .
• Advanced proficiency with reservoir simulation software packages (e.g., ECLIPSE, CMG).
• Strong understanding of reservoir engineering principles, fluid mechanics, and numerical methods.
• Proven ability to work effectively and independently in a remote environment, with excellent communication skills.
