Job Description:
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on children and young people’s lives? We are seeking a dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join our new Emotional Well-being Home in Syston, Leicestershire. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive team environment, helping vulnerable children and young people between the ages of 8-18 to develop confidence, independence, and emotional resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Building trusting, nurturing relationships to promote the emotional well-being and independence of children and young people.
- Leading and supporting the Residential Support Workers in their day-to-day responsibilities.
- Contributing to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
- Documenting information accurately and ensuring all records are up to date.
- Working in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals to support the children’s needs.
- Ensuring safeguarding policies and procedures are strictly followed at all times.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare or be willing to complete this within a specified timeframe.
- Relevant experience working with children and young people in a residential or similar setting.
- At least 1 year of supervisory and shift leading experience in a residential care environment.
- A good understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
