About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Risk Manager to join their robust risk management function in Reading . This crucial role involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating a wide range of financial and operational risks across the organization. You will develop and implement risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and protect the company's assets and reputation within the UK financial services sector. This is an integral, office-based position requiring close collaboration with various departments and senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the enterprise-wide risk management framework.
- Identify, assess, and monitor key risks, including market risk, credit risk, operational risk, and compliance risk.
- Design and execute risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant UK financial regulations and industry best practices.
- Prepare comprehensive risk reports for senior management and the board of directors.
- Lead and mentor a team of risk professionals, fostering a strong risk-aware culture throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in risk management, preferably within the financial services industry in the UK .
- Deep understanding of risk assessment methodologies, regulatory requirements (e.g., PRA, FCA), and capital management.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing risk management frameworks and policies.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
