Senior Risk Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Risk Manager to join their established financial services company, operating remotely from Southampton . This critical role involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial and operational risks across the organisation. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures, ensuring the company operates within acceptable risk appetite. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the enterprise-wide risk management framework.
• Identify, assess, and prioritise key financial, operational, and strategic risks.
• Design and execute risk mitigation strategies and controls.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and scenario analyses to evaluate potential impacts.
• Prepare risk reports and present findings and recommendations to senior management and the board.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory risk management requirements.
• Promote a strong risk-aware culture throughout the organisation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, or a related discipline; Master's degree or professional qualification (e.g., FRM, PRM) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in risk management, preferably within the financial services sector.
• In-depth knowledge of various risk types (credit, market, operational, liquidity) and risk management methodologies.
• Proven ability to develop and implement risk management frameworks and policies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, particularly in a remote setting.
