About the Role
Our client is looking for a strategic and experienced Senior Risk Manager to join their established financial services team in Sunderland . This critical role involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating a wide range of financial and operational risks across the organization. You will play a key part in developing and implementing robust risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures to safeguard the company's assets and reputation. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the enterprise-wide risk management framework.
- Conduct risk assessments, including identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities across business units.
- Design and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and develop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare regular risk reports for senior management and the board of directors.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to risk management within the banking sector.
- Collaborate with internal audit and compliance teams to enhance risk controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in risk management, preferably within the financial services or banking industry.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing risk frameworks and policies.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel Accords, FCA regulations).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid setting.
