Senior Scientist - AI in Drug Discovery

About the Role

Our client is looking for an innovative Senior Scientist specializing in the application of Artificial Intelligence to Drug Discovery , to join their fully remote research team. This pivotal role will involve leveraging cutting-edge AI/ML techniques to accelerate various stages of the drug discovery pipeline, from target identification and validation to lead optimization and preclinical candidate selection. You will work collaboratively with a global team of biologists, chemists, and data scientists, contributing to the design and implementation of novel computational approaches that redefine how we discover medicines. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced AI/ML algorithms for target identification, hit discovery, and lead optimization.
• Analyze and integrate large-scale biological and chemical datasets to build predictive models.
• Collaborate with domain experts (biologists, chemists) to translate complex biological problems into AI solutions.
• Design and manage computational experiments, ensuring robust validation and interpretation of results.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of AI initiatives within the drug discovery organization, staying abreast of emerging AI trends.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, or a related quantitative field with a strong focus on AI/ML.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience applying AI/ML to biological or chemical data in a drug discovery context.
• Proven expertise in machine learning techniques (e.g., deep learning, reinforcement learning) and proficiency in Python and relevant AI/ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
• Experience with large biological datasets (genomics, proteomics, screening data) and chemical data structures.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, essential for a fully remote working environment.
