About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Scientist to join their expert Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) team in Sheffield . This critical role will involve overseeing and conducting studies to characterize the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) properties of novel drug candidates. You will play a key part in guiding lead optimization and development decisions by providing robust DMPK data and insights. The ideal candidate will possess a strong scientific understanding of drug disposition and a commitment to high-quality research within a collaborative and dynamic pharmaceutical research setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and interpret in vitro and in vivo DMPK studies.
- Characterize drug metabolism pathways, transporter interactions, and pharmacokinetic profiles.
- Utilize LC-MS/MS for bioanalysis of drug and metabolite concentrations in biological matrices.
- Contribute to the selection and progression of drug candidates based on DMPK properties.
- Author study reports and contribute to regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with medicinal chemists, pharmacologists, and toxicologists.
Requirements
- PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in DMPK research within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Strong understanding of drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, and bioanalysis.
- Hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS and relevant software.
- Ability to design and conduct complex DMPK studies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
