Senior Security Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Security Architect to design and implement robust security solutions for their operations in Portsmouth . This critical role involves developing secure architectures for new systems and services, evaluating emerging security technologies, and providing strategic guidance on security best practices. You will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and product teams to ensure security is integrated into the entire development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of security principles and a proven track record in designing scalable and resilient security frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and oversee the implementation of secure, scalable, and resilient security architectures across the organisation's IT infrastructure.
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions to address evolving threats.
• Develop security standards, guidelines, and best practices for the organisation.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Conduct security reviews and risk assessments for new projects and systems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior security team members.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in information security, with a significant focus on security architecture and design.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing security solutions for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• In-depth knowledge of network security, application security, identity and access management (IAM), and data protection.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP-ISSAP, SABSA, or similar are highly valued.
