Senior Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Security Engineer to join their security operations team, operating in a fully remote capacity. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust security solutions to protect the company's digital assets and infrastructure. This role is critical in identifying vulnerabilities, responding to security incidents, and developing strategies to mitigate cyber threats. You will work with a dedicated team to ensure the highest standards of security across all aspects of the business, contributing to a secure digital environment from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls and systems across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning.
• Develop and implement incident response plans and lead investigations into security breaches.
• Monitor security alerts and events, providing timely and effective responses.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
• Stay current with emerging security threats and technologies, recommending proactive measures.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in information security or cybersecurity roles.
• Proven experience with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management tools.
• Strong understanding of network security, application security, and cloud security best practices (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience in incident response, digital forensics, and malware analysis.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation of security tasks.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, OSCP) are highly valued.
