Senior Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly motivated Senior Security Engineer to join their remote-first engineering team based out of Glasgow . This role is critical in designing, building, and maintaining secure infrastructure and applications. You will work on cutting-edge security technologies, automate security processes, and collaborate with development teams to embed security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to drive security initiatives in a fully remote setting, contributing to the protection of vital digital assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises infrastructure.
• Develop and deploy security automation tools and scripts to enhance operational efficiency and reduce risk.
• Conduct security assessments, code reviews, and penetration testing to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with software development teams to ensure secure coding practices and application security.
• Develop and maintain security documentation, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and incident response playbooks.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, providing timely resolution and post-incident analysis.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Security Engineer or in a related security-focused role.
• Strong experience with cloud security, container security, and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Solid understanding of networking protocols, encryption, and authentication mechanisms.
• Experience with security monitoring, SIEM, and incident response technologies.
