About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Senior Security Operations Analyst to bolster their security team in Portsmouth . This role is essential for monitoring, detecting, and responding to security threats in real-time. You will be at the forefront of defending the organization's digital assets, analyzing security incidents, and improving the effectiveness of security monitoring tools and processes. This is a critical position for a proactive and analytical security professional dedicated to maintaining a strong security posture.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events from various sources, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems.
• Perform in-depth analysis of security incidents, determine scope, and execute containment and eradication procedures.
• Develop and tune security detection rules and use cases to improve threat identification.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of security operations processes and procedures.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior analysts within the SOC team.
• Participate in threat hunting activities to proactively identify potential security compromises.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Security Operations Analyst or similar role within a Security Operations Center (SOC).
• Strong understanding of network protocols, common attack vectors, and threat intelligence.
• Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and other security monitoring tools.
• Experience with incident response procedures and digital forensics principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail in Portsmouth .
