About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly competent and experienced Senior Site Engineer to oversee and manage construction projects from a remote capacity, with occasional site visits required. This crucial role ensures that all engineering aspects of projects in the Sunderland area and beyond are executed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You will be the primary technical point of contact for site teams, responsible for solving complex on-site challenges and ensuring adherence to design specifications and project schedules. This position demands a proactive approach and excellent problem-solving abilities in a dynamic construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide remote technical support and guidance to site teams, resolving engineering issues as they arise.
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and method statements , ensuring accurate implementation on site.
- Oversee quality control procedures and conduct regular site inspections (both virtually and in-person) to monitor progress and compliance.
- Manage setting out, surveying, and levelling tasks, ensuring precision and accuracy of construction elements.
- Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations and promote a strong safety culture across all project sites.
- Maintain detailed site records, including progress reports, daily logs, and quality documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience (5+ years) in a site engineering role, with a proven track record of managing complex construction activities.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and geotechnical principles .
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment and CAD software for site engineering tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Familiarity with contract administration and risk management processes.
