Senior Smart Contract Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Smart Contract Engineer to join their pioneering team, offering a fully remote opportunity based in Belfast . This role is central to the development and security of our client's decentralized financial (DeFi) products and other blockchain-based applications. You will be responsible for writing, testing, and deploying secure, efficient, and robust smart contracts on various blockchain networks. As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in architectural decisions, code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers, contributing to the growth and innovation in the rapidly evolving crypto and blockchain space.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy secure and gas-efficient smart contracts using languages like Solidity.
• Perform thorough audits and security reviews of smart contracts to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with product managers and other engineers to define and implement smart contract features.
• Contribute to the architectural design of decentralized applications (dApps) and protocols.
• Optimize contract performance and ensure compliance with best practices in the blockchain ecosystem.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers in smart contract development and best practices.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years focused on smart contract development .
• Strong proficiency in Solidity and experience with relevant frameworks (e.g., Hardhat, Truffle).
• Deep understanding of Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and blockchain principles.
• Experience with security best practices for smart contracts and decentralized applications.
• Familiarity with crypto-economic principles and DeFi protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for decentralized technologies.
