Senior Smart Contract Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Smart Contract Engineer to join their fully remote Crypto & Blockchain team, based remotely but serving the Leeds region. This role is critical for designing, developing, and securing the smart contracts that form the backbone of our client's innovative decentralized platforms. You will be at the forefront of creating secure, efficient, and scalable smart contract logic for a variety of cutting-edge applications. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy secure and efficient smart contracts on various blockchain platforms (e.g., Ethereum).
• Conduct rigorous security audits and code reviews to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in smart contracts.
• Optimize smart contract performance and gas efficiency for cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate remotely with product managers, frontend developers, and other stakeholders to define and implement smart contract functionalities.
• Develop comprehensive unit tests and integration tests for smart contract logic.
• Research and implement best practices in smart contract development and blockchain security.

Requirements

• Proven track record as a Smart Contract Developer with demonstrable experience in Solidity or similar languages.
• Strong understanding of blockchain fundamentals, including consensus mechanisms and token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721, etc.).
• Experience with smart contract development frameworks and tools such as Hardhat, Truffle, or Foundry.
• Proficiency in backend development languages (e.g., Node.js, Python) for building supporting infrastructure.
• Familiarity with decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols and concepts.
• Excellent communication skills for effective remote collaboration and problem-solving.
