Senior Social worker- Children and Young people Team-Lewisham

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Children and Young People Team in Lewisham. In this rewarding role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality social work services to children, young people, and their families, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting positive outcomes. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, engaging with various stakeholders to support vulnerable children and young people in our community.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the needs of children and families.
• Developing and implementing effective care plans in collaboration with children, young people, and their families.
• Providing support and guidance to social work staff, including mentoring and supervision.
• Maintaining accurate and timely records in accordance with legal and organizational standards.
• Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to safeguarding and child protection initiatives.
• Engaging with families to empower them and promote resilience, ensuring that their voices are heard in the decision‑making process.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

• A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA in Social Work, MA in Social Work, or equivalent).
• Registration with Social Work England.
• Significant experience in child protection and working with children and young people.
• Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with families and professionals.
