About the Role
Our client is seeking a visionary Senior Software Architect to design and guide the development of complex enterprise-level solutions. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the UK, collaborating with a distributed team of highly skilled engineers. You will be responsible for defining technical strategies, establishing architectural standards, and ensuring the scalability, security, and maintainability of our client's software systems. This role is critical for driving technical innovation and ensuring that our client's technology stack effectively supports their business objectives. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of software design principles and a passion for building robust, future-proof systems. You will influence the technical direction across multiple product lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and document the overall software architecture for enterprise applications and systems.
- Establish architectural standards, patterns, and best practices for software development.
- Collaborate with development teams, product managers, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical designs.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and frameworks to improve system performance, scalability, and security.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, guiding them in architectural decision-making.
- Oversee the implementation of architectural designs, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Conduct architectural reviews and provide guidance on design trade-offs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a software architecture role.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale, distributed, and cloud-native enterprise systems.
- Deep understanding of various architectural styles (e.g., microservices, event-driven) and design patterns.
- Expertise in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Go) and common frameworks.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
