Senior Software Engineer - Backend

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Software Engineer specializing in Backend development to join their team in Edinburgh . Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend code using modern frameworks.
• Develop and integrate APIs, ensuring seamless data flow between different services and systems.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define and implement new features.
• Write comprehensive unit tests and integration tests to ensure code quality and stability.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to team members.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in production and development environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development .
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, or Go.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases.
• Solid understanding of API design principles and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
