Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer specializing in Cloud Infrastructure to join their dynamic, remote-first team based in Aberdeen, Scotland . Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable and highly available infrastructure on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployments and infrastructure provisioning.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations for reliability and cost-efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on operations.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment of applications into the cloud environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with a strong focus on AWS or Azure.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proven experience with IaC tools and CI/CD best practices.
- Deep understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and monitoring tools within a cloud context.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
