Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Platforms

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team, operating remotely from Sunderland . You will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying scalable, cloud-native applications and services. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable backend services and APIs on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code following industry best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define technical requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Optimize application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for enhanced scalability and efficiency.
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production and development environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development , with a focus on backend systems and cloud technologies.
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or C#.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with a passion for building robust software.
