Senior Software Engineer - Distributed Systems

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with a specialization in distributed systems to join their innovative team in Plymouth . You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and scaling complex, high-throughput systems that are resilient and fault-tolerant. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement highly scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant distributed systems .
• Develop efficient algorithms and data structures for large-scale data processing and real-time systems.

• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code in languages like Go, Java, or C++.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on building and operating distributed systems .
• In-depth knowledge of concurrency, parallelism, networking protocols, and consensus algorithms.
• Proven experience with at least one high-performance programming language such as Go, Java, or C++.
• Experience with message queuing systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) and distributed databases.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
