About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with a specialization in Embedded Systems to join their innovative product development team in Norwich . You will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and integration of embedded software for their next-generation products. This role requires a deep understanding of low-level programming, real-time operating systems, and hardware-software interaction. You will collaborate with hardware engineers and firmware developers to create robust, efficient, and reliable embedded solutions that push the boundaries of technology, working within a company that values innovation and engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement embedded software using languages like C and C++ .
- Work with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and bare-metal environments for embedded applications.
- Develop and maintain firmware for microcontrollers and embedded processors.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to define hardware requirements and debug hardware-software integration issues.
- Implement and execute unit tests and integration tests for embedded software components.
- Optimize embedded software for performance, memory usage, and power consumption.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in embedded systems development .
- Strong proficiency in C and C++ programming languages for embedded environments.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, or similar.
- Familiarity with hardware debugging tools (e.g., JTAG, logic analyzers) and protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART).
- Understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies applied to embedded systems.
